Fedor vs. Brock Lesnar – Would Lesnar Win?

Or Would Fedor Win a Potential Fight?

Nov 10, 2009 Nick Meyer

After American MMA fans finally got to see what makes Fedor Emelianenko so good, there's only one question on everyone's mind.

Most MMA, UFC, and Strikeforce fans don't want to see a Fedor vs. Brett Rogers rematch nor do they want to see Brock Lesnar fight anyone else in the UFC as much as they want to see the UFC Heavyweight Champion fight Fedor.

It was the fight that was supposed to happen after the UFC and Fedor negotiated for days on end, but M1 Global squashed it after they insisted any fight featuring Fedor should co-promoted with them.

The Fedor vs. Lesnar fight everyone wanted to see is now on hold and may never happen. But the debate as to whether Lesnar could beat Fedor and vice versa rages on.

Fedor v.s. Lesnar Fight: Who Wins?

While Lesnar is the most well known of the two heavyweight fighters in America, that doesn't mean that he is more established. At just 4-1, his record is far away from Fedor's as Emelianenko boasts 31 wins in his career with the only loss coming via a cut due to an illegal strike.

Lesnar has great natural ability and wrestling but his overall mixed martial arts skills are not anywhere near what Fedor's are right now. In terms of grappling and submissions and submission defense and technicaly striking, Fedor has a huge advantage.

The x-factor for who would win a Fedor vs. Lesnar fight is of course the freakish size of Brock Lesnar.

He would outweight Fedor, who came in at 232 pounds for his fight with Brett Rogers, by a startling 40-50 pounds come fight night as Brock Lesnar has to cut weight to get down to the UFC heavyweight limit of 265 but then adds some back before the night of the fight.

Fedor is good at working off of his back and has fought guys heavier and bigger than Lesnar before and done quite well. But none of them had near the wrestling ability or quickness of Lesnar.

Dana White says Lesnar would beat Fedor

After being asked about the Brett Rogers vs.Fedor Emelianenko fight one too many times apparently, Dana White seemed as though he had enough when he said that he thought Fedor would get smashed by Brock to paraphrase his quote, or that Lesnar would smash his head or something to that effect.

This seems like nothing more than an owner of a popular organization like the UFC tryng to hype up his own fighter.

But Lesnar would have a shot to beat Fedor due to the size difference.

But it would be a competitve fight and it's one UFC and MMA fans need to see soon. Hopefully politics don't get in the way of it happening.
